Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich(2-1) UEFA Champions League quater-final match review

From the last month there was excitement and expectation for this big match between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Now the wait has ended as the two titans came face to face in the Allianz Arena, Munich. Unfortunately Pepe and Varane both were injured and for that Nacho was required for the team selection.
Lewandowski was also injured and was sidelined for the match. His absence was really surprising for The Whites. Ancelotti selected Robben and Ribery on the wings and shifted Muller to the center forward.
The match started with good performance from both teams and they both were defining their approach. Bayern started their attacking through the wing via Robben. Real Madrid was also playing same but mostly left forward as Marcelo was partnering well with the midfielders and Ronaldo. Benzema was also trying well to get connected with the midfielders. Both teams created many chances.
Before the opening goal Bayern was looking pretty good for making opportunities from corners and crosses. They were looking to score in that way. At the 25th minute Vidal answered to the audiences with a tumultuous header. This gave Ancelotti's men more confidence.
Real Madrid reacted well to the Germans with a more reserved style. They transferred the attacking moments into goal scoring chances. Marcelo, Bale and Carvajal was playing widely to make more chances to score from crosses. Casemiro's well playing and pretty good tackles combining with Navas's awesome saves made Bayern quite depressed.
Within the two minutes of the second half started Real Madrid equalized with a brilliant goal. This climax was gained after Vidal missed penalty in the first half. Carvajal provided a spectacular cross to Ronaldo and he did the rest. This equalizer gave Zidane a small relief because they got an away goal.
In the 55th minute Bale tried to score with a brilliant header but Neuer save it as usual. At the 61st minute Martinez's second yellow card increased the control of The Whites. Neuer also saved the shots by Benzema and Ronaldo sequentially at 72 and 74 minutes. Real Madrid's performance there was hardly any fault. Their intensity, focus was really worth of many goals but their lack of finishing touch and many extraordinary saves by Neuer didn't allow them to score many goals.
Real Madrid established stylish movements and passes through the German defence. The great connectivity of the whites gifted them another superb goal, again by CR7. At the 77th minute Cristiano Ronaldo scored a fabulous goal which was placed perfectly by Asensio. With that goal Ronaldo established a new milestone. CR7 is the first player to score 100 goals in UEFA club competitions beating his rival Messi who's at the second position with 97 goals.

At the 82 minutes again bad luck captured Madrid when referee called an offside to the Benzema's goal. At the end Real Madrid returned back home with 2 away goals and very valuable 2-1 lead.

                                       Conclusion:-
1.       There was hardly any fault of Real Madrid. They played a pretty good and fair match.
2.       Asensio is going to be the next star.

3.       Performance of CR7 was outstanding.
